Our fine classical chamber music can provide that perfect ambiance for your function or party, adding a touch of class and sophistication. Opus One has accumulated an impressive corporate roster of very satisfied clients throughout Greater Boston, including Sun Microsystems, Merck, WCRB 102.5 Classical Radio, Arbella Mutual Insurance Company, The Seasonal Table and Real Networks.

Dedicated to quality... Opus One is dedicated to performing chamber music with excellence. Our members have collaborated in a variety of settings, including chamber music recitals and live WGBH radio performances. Our experienced players have impressive backgrounds performing solo and chamber music recitals worldwide. Opus One members also perform with Boston's finest orchestras, including the Boston Symphony and the Boston Pops orchestras, the Boston Ballet, and the New England String Ensemble.

An extensive repertoire... Opus One is capable of performing pieces composed in a variety of musical styles, from Vivaldi to Bernstein. Each is performed with our characteristic warmth and energy. We will always tailor the musical program to fit your particular event. Consider just a few of these diverse programming possibilities which are well within our repertoire:

A variety of available ensembles... String Quartet (2 violins, viola and cello)
By far the most versatile, this ensemble offers a very full sound and a wide variety of repertoire ranging from Classical (Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven) to Romantic (Dvorak and Tchaikovsky) to waltzes by Strauss, Rags by Joplin and Broadway tunes by Bernstein.

String Trio (2 violins and cello)
The sound of this ensemble is lighter in character, but warm nevertheless. The exquisite repertoire derives mainly from the Baroque (Handel,Telemann and Vivaldi) and Classical (Mozart and Haydn) eras. We also have some exclusive arrangements for more popular tunes.

String Duo (2 violins, or violin and cello)
This sound is very intimate and it is ideal for very small gatherings. The repertoire is refreshing, but not mainstream. Mozart and Haydn anchor the available repertoire, while it also draws on works by lesser-known but accomplished composers.
