Opus One Chamber Players
Opus One is about quality...
My first violin
My first violin
I started Opus One in 1992 out of my genuine love for performing chamber music with professionals of the highest caliber. Coming from a family of violinists, I have extremely high musical standards. My father is a retired violinist of the Boston Symphony, while my mother is still a member of the Boston Ballet. I started playing violin at age 4, and my experiences as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral performer are unique and diverse.

Presently, I am the Concertmaster of the New England String Ensemble, a professional string orchestra which performs in Greater Boston. I'm also in the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra - our annual July 4th performance on the Hatch Shell is televised nationwide. As a soloist, I've performed with the New England String Ensemble, Brookline Philharmonic, Wellesley Symphony Orchestra, Triptych Orchestra, the Nashua Symphony (New Hampshire), and the Cascade Festival Orchestra (Oregon).

Live on WGBH radio
I've also performed in numerous chamber music recitals and have appeared live on WGBH radio on many occassions. Many of these performances were in collaboration with other Opus One players. We have accumulated much experience working closely in such ensemble settings. This has bred a high degree of familiarity with one another, both musically and personally.
My wife Christine is also a professional violinist. We married in 1999 and since then Christine has taken over as music coordinator of Opus One. She is a member of the Boston Ballet Orchestra. We frequently perform and tour together with the Boston Pops and of course we have performed together in many chamber music settings. Her Conservatory training includes a Bachelors from the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati and a Master of Music degree from Boston University, where she studied with the concertmaster of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Malcolm Lowe.
Professional, courteous and well-rehearsed,
Opus One will surpass your highest expectations.

Very sincerely,
Greg Vitale
